There is no single identifiable aspect of our daily activity that has more of an impact on the success or failure of our business than safety. Providing all employees with a safe and quality work environment is a core Value of Mullen. 

Safety in the workplace is fundamental to meeting the objective of satisfying customer requirements and the goal of achieving better business results. Compromising safety is the same as compromising the well-being of your people, which is not acceptable.

Throughout our entire organization, safety is a culture that consists of shared beliefs, practices and attitudes.  Mullen strives for excellence in safety by hiring only those individuals who are committed to these same objectives. We achieve excellence by:

  • Establishing explicit orientation, training and certification standards;
  • Committing to use only the most modern and up-to-date equipment available;
  • Undertaking extensive safety inspections and hazard assessments;
  • Adhering to stringent guidelines with respect to compliance and regulations;
  • Measurement and improvement through rigorous self-evaluation.

Mullen is one of the only service based organizations that is a member of the Alberta Workplace Health & Safety "Partners In Health and Safety" program ("Partner").  This program and its exclusive members believe that healthy and safe workplaces are achieved by stakeholders committed to shared learning, leadership, meaningful worker involvement and enhanced quality assurance standards. In addition to being a Partner, Mullen and all of our Alberta based business units actively participate in the Alberta Workplace Health and Safety Certificate of Recognition ("COR") program, which certifies industry recommended HSE Management Systems ("HSEMS") have been successfully instituted into the organization – maintaining a COR is a prerequisite for working for many of our customers.

Mullen will continue to promote the requirement of a safe work environment and general highway safety as an integral part of its corporate strategy.
